It’s Sunday night and I’m stargazing. As I am typing this, I
am perched in the terrace, my computer in my lap and headphones in my ears. It’s
a little foggy and the stars are not as bright as they normally are and here I
am again – very much inspired to make a playlist to replicate the feeling I had
after reading Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
1. Elevator
Love Letter by Stars – Don't go, say you'll stay / Spend a lazy Sunday / in my arms
/ I won't take anything away (This has abused me emotionally
for two weeks now and I’m in love with it.)
2.
Miss Friday by Nico Stai - Wake wake up get out o' your head / You gotta wake wake up get
out o' your head / You got
a lot to live / You got a
lot to live for / So bye
bye bye misery / I'm gonna
cut you into three (I’m staying up all night
again and this is what keeps me going for the last two nights.)
3.
Each Coming Night by Iron and Wine - Your face has faded but
lingers on / Because light strikes a deal with each coming night (And I remember my
grandparents and the people I may never see again.)
4.
Nothing Like You and I by The Perishers - We spent some time together
drinking / Spent some time just thinking about days of joy / As
our hearts started beating faster / I recalled your laughter from long
ago / There's nothing like you and I (To my best buddy Rey, whom I
haven’t talked to for a while now. Where art thou?)
5.
Polaris by Jimmy Eat World - I feel that when I'm old / I'll look at you and know
/ The world was beautiful (Oh, sweet and powerful
lyrics.)
6.
Holocene by Bon Iver - And at once I knew I was not magnificent / High above the
highway aisle (Jagged vacance, thick with ice) / But I could see for
miles, miles, miles (A song about redemption and realizing that you're worth
something; that you're special and not special at the same time.)
7.
Make You Feel My Love by Adele – The entire song
is just amazing. Jay recommended this to me and since then I haven’t stop
listening to it. I even made my own cover, but that’s another story.
8.
Beirut by Goshen - You never found it home / You're not the girl I used to know
/ What would you hide from such a glow / If I had only told you so ( A very sad song about a
girl who has turned into someone that persona doesn’t recognize anymore)
9.
Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute - This song, to me comes off as a song about meeting someone new and
both having pasts with relationships going bad and finding happiness in one another.
Not knowing where things were going to go with each other, but not worrying
about the future and to not run away from a good thing and just "kiss me
slowly". Catchy and I can’t help but sing it.
10. Half
Moon by Blind Pilot - That wind is calling my name / I won’t wait or I’ll never
get on (This makes me remember my dreams and why I
need to get off this terrace right now, or I’ll never get anything done
tonight. Alright.)
Kate. Whatever you're going through right now, I really hope you could overcome all of it with a bang. Hehe. I'm just here if you want a fun, timewasting talk since I'm not preoccupied with anything at the moment.
