On Boys and Men

No, you’re wrong. I’m not a man-hater. Even though men seem to constantly break my heart (Ouch. That one really hurt), I’m a fan of yours. Actually I’m a big fan that I was some sort of a tomboy in high school. I was, in fact, obsessed with your loose-fitting pants and shapeless shorts and big baggy t-shirts and those comfy sweaters that drop below my knees. Not only your fashion sense but also how low-maintenance you are (I mean, you can live in a bath soap alone, you don’t need a shower caddy), how you love to drive cars and how uncute you look in skinny jeans. Your music is so way grand than girl rock (though I know there are great female artists that could compare). You are so adorable that I tried to follow you. Guys, you are awesome and if you don’t believe the aforementioned, please read below for additional enlightenment.

You make me laugh
When times get rough, when I feel like kicking someone’s devil-may-care-butts, when I feel like I could punch someone in their jaws that their teeth fall off, I will run into you and magically, and miraculously, your words of sarcasm, corny jokes, your smile…I will see myself smiling and grinning again. You guys just have a way of making me laugh. Who wouldn’t love that?

Your funny endearments
I notice the little things. I notice even the relatively small thing for many of you, but when you call me cute, silly names they just go miles for me. Haha. They are cute, charming even.

(Gosh, I sound so disgustingly girly.)

You're “torpe-ness”
I have always hid my feelings when I should be wearing them on my sleeves. Well, I do let my feelings be known, well at least not straightforwardly, but not when it comes to you sometimes. What would you do if I just blurted out how I felt about you and straight to your face, with no warning? That would be strange. I would look like a total moron. That said, a little bit of mystery is sexy, well at least, to me.

You know the exact words I want to hear
The compliment I received from my past relationship is still here, with me, in my memory. Though he's probably forgotten he even said it, I never have. That’s what makes it so special. It just endures, it lasts, and the tangible gifts could never outlast those spoken words. My favorite compliment was “the most interesting girl I know”, Exactly. =)

Your puzzling sensitive side
Guys are jerks. Guys are stupid. Guys are liars. Yep, I heard that but I do not accept that as complete truths. I know guys who have a sensitive side. It’s just that it’s there in the depths of you, completely hidden from the world’s view. Guys have this unwritten law, “the boy code”, that they must at all times never show any sentiment, emotions, feelings especially around a fellow male, that they should abide this at all times and live by it. Well, I think guys who act that they are so cool are total dicks but equally, guys who sob and constantly needs a hug is well, a little too gay. Guys who isn't afraid to show his soft center underneath that hard exterior is a keeper, think of Michael Cera on Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist or Hugh Grant in Notting Hill, or Jason Wade (lyrics of his songs).

Well there it is the top 5. I know this list will grow sometime but not real soon. Hmmm…
Can you imagine a world without men? No crime and lots of happy fat women. Just a thought.
