Cooking Vinyl

This is a list of my top 12 most-played songs on my mp3.

1. Fiona Apple's rendition of Across the Universe by the Beatles - She has an incredibly soothing voice and she made the song her own.

2. Big as the Sky by AM60 - Is this what it means to be in love?

3. Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap - This song captures the innocence of youth. The melody is captivating and I had chills when I first heard it in the movie 500 Days of Summer.

4. Such Great Heights by The Postal Service - This reminds me of Owl City. The lyrics of this song reminds me of a lot of things.

5. Song Beneath a Song by Maria Taylor - This is filed in my Bitte Ein Kuss folder and in that folder are the most special songs that is almost like poetry In short, songs that are complex and layered. Her voice is so silky and the song meaning is beautiful.

6. There's a Girl by The Ditty Bops - This is one of the few happy songs in my Mp3. It is about a lesbian crush. Don't get me wrong now. I just love the beat and how I can dance to it.

7. Everything Will Be Alright by Joshua Radin - He's one of my favorite folk singers. This is one of my lullabies, a feel good music when I stargaze, or simply something I will listen to while sitting in the bus at night my eyes fleeting through a million stars.

8. Romantic Comedy by Stars - This band is awesome. Most of their songs are overlooked. I love this one, it gives me a dose of happiness. I think the song is about love getting bland.

9. Change of Seasons by Sweet Thing - This I heard from Easy A, the opening soundtrack. It just sets the mood of being carefree. The lyrics are clever and the instruments have spark. Something that will help me get out of depression.

10. Fascinating New Thing by Semisonic - I watched 10 Things I Hate About You for like 18 times and this song reminds me of the painball scene which was very sweet. It gives me a rush of endophins and will help me out of depression as well.

11. Uncharted by Sara Bareilles - You must see the video. This is a very rare opportune that you'll see Josh Groban acting silly. And Ben Folds is in it too and a lot of other sweet singers that I just adore. This is about life in general. Another way to interpret it is that, her feeling of being a bit intimidated by the pressure with creating another hit song.

12. Fuck You by Sara Bareilles - Sara Bareilles is one of the most amazing singers I adore. She has the female balls to actually make a rendition of this song which allows Itunes to make a description 'Fuck You - Sara Bareilles'. She is amazing.

Runner-up:  Electric Twist by A Fine Frenzy - This song is so upbeat which makes it different from her other songs. This song is about abandoning your senses to bring about a carefree, much wilder relationship. Did I say that wholesome enough?
