Ashes and Wine by A Fine Frenzy

I admit. My first favorite A Fine Frenzy song was Almost Lover but this one is incredible. I think the song is about two people who broke up, the guy moved on and found someone else but the girl still has feelings for the guy. My favorite lines are “Don’t know if our fate’s already sealed, this day’s a spinning circus on a wheel, and I’m ill with the thought of your kiss, Coffee laced, intoxicating on her lips.” Good stuff. Alison’s voice is so affecting, just listening to her makes me teary-eyed and if you happen to see one of her live performance videos on YouTube, you could see that she actually cry in the end of a song. I’m not sure what “Ashes and Wine” means. Ash does not dissolve in wine so maybe, this means that she and the guy just don’t mix…that no matter how two people try, maybe things just don’t work out. Listen to the song on my playlist at the right.
Only If by Enya

This is the first time I listened to this artist. She has a distinctive style. The song is about pursuing a dream. The song entails that if you really want something you have to seize the day. If you want something, you have to want it enough, and then you can do it. This would be a great song to feel motivated to do schoolwork. I actually like this song.
I am Blessed by Eternal

This is an old song. I remember singing this karaoke when I was eight years old. It’s a Christian song and I listen to this when I feel so down and weakening. It reminds me that there are a lot of people who cares for me, that I am blessed for finding peace inside me, for my family and friends, for their love. There’s nothing else I need but love.
Sweetness in Starlight by Matt Wertz

Ha-ha. Every time I see something involving stars, it automatically gets my curiosity. I honestly think Matt Wertz is better than John Mayer. I love the smoothness of his wonderful voice. I think this song says something about cherishing love, holding each other no matter what till the end. There are not many words in this song though. Nevertheless, Matt Wertz makes me imagine the kind of love that happens in movies. Listen to this song from my playlist.
Different by Acceptance

Okay. This song is good. I love Acceptance, they are one of my favorites. But this song’s just my second favorite next to Contagiously. The singer sounds like he is desperate for change in his life, that he's sick of the rut he is in and it sort of sounds like he hates himself a bit and that he's looking towards this girl to give him something different in his life. Something that other girls, friends or what have you couldn’t give him in the past. He desperately wants this girl to lift him up and change unlike every girl in his past. Maybe I'm completely off but that’s what it means to me. Listen to this song from my playlist.
